A Lantern Favor is a $1.00 USD, one-time purchase linked to your game account. Keep it for yourself, pass it to another traveler, or redeem it for one permanent extra character slot.
You do not need a Lanternkeeper subscription to buy, receive, pass, or redeem a Favor. Favors are separate from the $4.99 monthly membership and from premium Wisp appearance purchases.
Log into a character in the browser client and enter:
LANTERN BUYClick the secure checkout link in the World Feed. It opens in a new tab, where you complete your $1.00 payment through Stripe. Your Favor is added after payment is confirmed.
Purchase links expire after 15 minutes. Run the command again for a fresh link, and keep your personal checkout link private.
COVENANTSee your available Favor balance and Favor IDs. Favors belong to your account, so you can access them through your characters.
PASS LANTERN <character> [message]Give one Favor to another player by their character name. Add an optional message of up to 200 characters—a thank-you, a welcome, or a memory from the road.
For example: PASS LANTERN Prime Thanks for the adventure!
Passing transfers ownership of one Favor; it does not create a copy. You cannot pass one to another character on your own account. Its new owner can pass it onward or redeem it.
LANTERN REDEEM SLOTRedeem one available Favor to add one permanent character slot to your account. The Favor is consumed and can no longer be passed or redeemed again.
Character slots are the currently supported Favor redemption. Buying a Favor does not automatically redeem it.
THE LIVING LANTERN LEDGER
LANTERN LEDGER <favor-id>Copy a full Favor ID from COVENANT and use it in this command to see its recorded journey: when it was issued, who passed it along, their messages, and its redemption. Its history remains after redemption and is available to accounts that have taken part in its journey.
